Volunteering teams for Accessibility and Disability Inclusion in Italy (Fully Funded)

Open call from 10 volunteers from European countries and Italy to join a two-week volunteering project in Padua, Italy. This project is organised by COMUNE DI PADOVA and Funded by the European Solidarity corps programme of the European Union.


About the volunteering

Progetto Giovani is looking for a team of 10 volunteers, both italians and international young people from different European countries, interested in the social field to explore the concept of disability and inclusion through different activities in the city of Padua. Volunteers will help in the implementation of the office activities, such as:

- linguistic workshops, by adapting them with an inclusive lens;

- map the accessibility of some of the most important cultural centres in the city 

- get to know and collaborate with local partner associations that work with people with disabilities. 

This includes offering support for recreational activities available at various centres, which are managed and overseen by dedicated staff and educators. These activities include painting workshops, music therapy, handicrafts, and adapted motor skills programs. Additionally, they will create their own personal project aimed at promoting these activities and fostering social inclusion among local youth and citizens.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 years;

- You are living in one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Finland, France, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia.

- Able to attend the entire duration of the project of 14 days;

- Interested in the topic of social inclusion;

- Responsible, respectful, eager to help and learn, good listeners, proactive and creative;

- Basic proficiency in Italian and prior studies/experience in the social sector (volunteer, educator) are recommended; 

- Willing to learn new things and share with others;

- No special skills are required but everything additional is welcome.


Expenses and Benefits

- Volunteers will be accommodated at OPSA, a residential complex 5km away from Paduas city centre (in the nearby city of Rubano),

-  Participants will share bedrooms with a private bathroom (2-4 people) in their own hall, which includes a common area.

- Meals will be provided by the host organisation, either by the canteen or as a packed lunch for outdoor activities.

You will get 6 Euros per day as a pocket money which can be used for your own expenses. Participants will be given local transportation tickets.

- Each participants will get international health insurance from "HENNER" during the participation in the project.

Your international travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the distance between your home and Italy according to the following limits:

  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV.

Application deadline: 21st of June 2024

Arrival day: 15th of September 2024

Program starts: 16th of September 2024

Program ends: 30th of September 2024

Departure day: 1st of October 2024

Note: You have 4 extra days in total that you can use before or after the project to travel around Italy. If you wish to do so, bare in mind that you need to cover the costs for your accommodation & food. Late arrivals or early departures are not allowed.
