Kora association is currently looking for 16 volunteers to support staff with farm activities for the volunteer team project "Youth and Nature" in Passignano sul Trasimeno, Italy. This project will be on the farm of "La Buona Terra" School, the first educational farm in Italy, with more than 30 years of experience working with children, youth and adults of all ages.
Description
"La Buona Terra" farm produces organic olive oil and essential oils from different aromatic herbs, providing environmental education for groups of all ages.
The volunteers will support the staff with the following tasks:
- Horticulture and agriculture: herb garden, vegetable garden, learning and promoting self-production of food as a means of sustainable life
- Informal education activities with groups hosted on the farm
- Events for locals: Guided picnics in the herb garden, aperitif
- Farm business: maintenance, recycling, construction of small dams and other water management systems
- Joint cooking
Finance and Benefits
- Accommodation and food will be covered by the European Commission.
- The volunteers will be accommodated in big tents divided by gender on the farm premises.
- The volunteers will receive 5 euro per day as a pocket money.
- The volunteers will have Health insurance.
- Travel expenses will be refunded up to 360 euro depends on the distance between your place and Italy.
Work Time
The volunteers will work 35 hours a week with two consecutive free days per week and 2 extra days of holidays, to be taken preferably at the end of the project.
Eligibility
- Aged between 18 and 30 years old
- Resident in EU member countries , Italy included
- Available for the whole duration of the project
- Good time management, open-mindedness, team- work and flexibility
- Ready to live in an intercultural context in a rural area, where the closest town with facilities is at 20 minutes on foot
