About Dali

Dali is a large village in Cyprus located in the southeast of the capital Nicosia, near the ancient city of Idalion. In 2001 its population was 5,834. In 2011, the population nearly doubled to 10,466.


About Project


WWV is a short-term project of the European Solidarity Corps that will host 15 volunteers from different countries in Europe within the village of Dali, Cyprus. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about sustainable living and how to design a sustainable lifestyle. Volunteers will be involved in organizing a festival, in activities related to construction, harvesting, recycling and field work. WWV focuses on promoting environmental and agricultural issues, intercultural exchange, and active participation. Involving volunteers from countries other than Cyprus will enhance the learning process and will draw attention to our goals of tolerance, acceptance and awareness of cultural diversity leading to integration and intercultural experiences.


Finance and Benefits

- Accommodation will be provided by the host organization( Politistiko Ergastiri Ayion Omoloyiton) in Dali Village.

- Volunteers will share bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathrooms.

- Each volunteer will receive pocket money and a food allowance to cover food and personal costs. 

- Travel costs are reimbursed by host organization (up to a maximum amount, depending on the distance range).


Duration

A total of 4 weeks during the period from 06/10/2021 to 4/11/2021.


Eligibility

- BE a resident in one of these countries ( Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Finland, France, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia)

- Aged between 18 - 30 years

Interested in sustainable living and are ready to undergo physical activity.

- The volunteers should be ready to: Learn and work with the locals; Gain experiences with farmers and hard working people; Enjoy nature and the local environment.

- Volunteers from any of the following backgrounds and not only are encouraged to apply: Welding, Design, Technical coordination, Performing Arts, Socially engaged art, Visual Arts, Social Science, Cooking and Culinary arts.
