About Timisoara

Timisoara, the largest city in western Romania. It was the 1st European city to introduce horse-drawn trams in 1869 and electrical street lighting in 1889. Timisoara will be The European Capital of Culture in 2023. For the weather condition the summers are warm to hot with temperatures that can get to 35-40 °C and the winters, the temperature can go to -15°C.


About the Project

Youth centres Up 2 is a short-term European Solidarity Corps project organised by Timis County Youth Foundation "FITT" in Romania. The project will be about issues of solidarity, inclusion, human rights and about your work with FITT team. they are looking for volunteers with the desire to develop their skills and help them in turning 10 old industrial buildings into youth centers and develop the neighbourhoods of Timisoara. A total of 200 international and national volunteers will work in this project. the project will spilt in 4 main parts.

First part: 5 days of accommodation and training to know your team and your role on specific activities.

Second Part: 20 days of arrangement of the spaces to get the buildings ready to host youth activities.

Third Part: 4 days of preparation and inauguration - You will receive a budget to organise by yourselves an opening event for the youth center.

Fourth Part: 1 day of activity evaluation.


Finance

- Free accommodation in 2-3 beds bedrooms with bathroom and common kitchen.

There will be washing machines, shared kitchen with dish cups, cutlery and microwaves.

- The food allowance will be 5 euro per day ( 1 euro = 4.9 RON)

- They will offer a pocket money in the amount of 3 euro per day.

- Don't worry about pocket money and food allowance, Life in Romania isn't expensive.

- International and local transportation will be covered by Erasmus+ and ESC


What should you bring with you?

comfortable clothes suitable for reshaping the buildings.

- towels, bath flip flops, hygienic products and a hair dryer.

- solar protection cream for when you will be working outside.

 medicine, if you have any specific illness or medical condition.

Duration

A total of 30 days during the month that you will choose in application form.


Eligibility

- Your age between 18-30 years old.

- you are a resident in one of the following countries:

- Have a good command of English.

- Ready to move for 30 days in another country.
