An opportunity to attend the Mediterranean Youth Academy 2022 program in Alexandria, Egypt, for a week, organised by the Mediterranean Youth Foundation for Development, under the auspices of the Egyptian Prime Minister and with the support of the Minister of Youth and Sports in Egypt. 120 participants from the Mediterranean region will participate in the program, and the program will revolve around topics (economics, politics, geography, history, and the relations of the Mediterranean countries with Egypt).
About the Project
The “Mediterranean Youth Foundation” seeks to qualify and prepare 120 young people in the second phase through A one-week training programme, aimed at promoting awareness of Mediterranean issues and challenges facing the countries of the Mediterranean, and to involve young people in facing these challenges.
Program Goals
1) Introducing the issues of the Mediterranean Sea:
- Topics of the first edition: (climate change - gender equality - irregular migration -
extremism).
- Topics of the second edition:(Human Rights - Entrepreneurship and Youth
Employment - Youth Empowerment and Facilitating Mobility - Mediterranean National Security - Climate Change).
Continuing on the topics of the first edition, with presenting the implemented youth
initiatives (13 youth initiatives).
2) To identify the successful experiences of some Mediterranean countries in various fields in addition to propose the possibility of applying them in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
3) Creating a nucleus for a Mediterranean youth network centered in Egypt to network among the youth of the Mediterranean countries.
4) Opening horizons for youth discussion to find innovative solutions to Mediterranean issues in addition to the role of youth in them.
Eligibility
Nationality: The applicant must hold a nationality or have permanent residence in a friendly country Members of the Union for the Mediterranean. The list of countries can be found here
Age: The applicant must be between 18-29 years old. Until March 1, 2022.
Language: It is preferable that the applicant be fluent in English, level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Commitment: The applicant must be 100% committed to attending the program in full and will be signed on a pledge to do so.
Admission: The applicant must pass the personal interview with the selection committee after completing the interview Dedicated registration form.
Benefits and Finance
- The program bears the costs of training, accommodation and subsistence and does not bear the costs of transportation/flight Or an entry visa to Egypt, if needed, for the participants from out of Egypt.
- Invitations to accepted applicants can be issued to support the visa application in case of need.
- Informational and logistical support can be provided on internal transportation from an airport Access in Egypt to the place of implementation of the program.
