Short term ESC volunteering project in Croatia for 2 weeks (Fully Funded)

Two weeks volunteering project "If you see the need, take the lead" in Veliki Žitnik, Croatia. This project is organised by "Outward Bound Croatia" and co-funded by European Solidarity Corps program of the European Commission.



About the project

A 2-week volunteering teams activity in Veliki Žitnik, Croatia, where you'll have chance to:

- Help in environmental actions

- Cleaning the local river banks

- Cleaning and expanding existing paths from overgrown vegetation and marking the paths.

- Production and installation of signposts, production of info elements on the trails, changes of worn-out material.

- Creating solution for waste managing on local level.

- Spend great 2 weeks with 25 volunteers from different countries practicing English, exchanging experiences, culture, ideas and making international friends.


Eligibility

This opportunity available to 25 young people who can met the following requirements: 

- Aged between 18-30 years

- From EU member countries 

Motivated for volunteering and community work, no previous experience required

Priority for participants facing fewer opportunities (facing economic, social, cultural, geographical obstacles)

- Motivated to spend 2 weeks in beautiful nature on a Croatian Lika region helping the environment and the local community

Enjoying spending time outdoors and working with hands

Not afraid of physical work

-Open towards new people and experiences, living together and working in a team.

- Willing to contribute to the local community.

- Ready to develop new skills and competences.

Finance and Benefits

- There is no participation fee.

- Accommodation will be OBC Educational Center in Veliki Žitnik, a small village in the rural, mountain region of Lika, Croatia.

- The OBC Educational Center is fully equipped with 2 dormitory-type bedrooms (male and female), bathrooms, a kitchen, a common room and a big yard, surrounded by forest.

- Pocket money 80 EUR given in cash on arrival 

- Food will be provided by the host organisation 3 meals per day.

- Travel expenses from your home country to project venue will be reimbursed after participation in the project according to the distance between your  travelling place to the volunteering venue as follows:

  • for travel distance between 0 and 99 km: 23 EUR / person.
  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = no reimbursement!
- YouthPass Certificate will be granted for all participants at the end of the project.


Timeline

Application deadline: 10th of July 2023

Arrival day: 16.07.2023 (dinner will be provided) 

Activities begin: 17.07.2023

Free days: 4 free days between 27-30.07.2023 (organised by the volunteers themselves)

Departure day: 31.07.2023 in the morning (breakfast will be provided)
