If you are interested in doing volunteering project in Europe, then this opportunity is perfect for you to join ESC volunteering project for one Month in Sweden. Hastekasen Farm and adventure center provides different ESC volunteering projects for youth for one month in April, May, or July. This project is funded by the European Solidarity Corps.
What is the European Solidarity Corps ?
The European Solidarity Corps is an EU funding programme for young people wishing to engage in solidarity activities in a variety of areas. These range from helping the disadvantaged to humanitarian aid, as well as contributing to health and environmental action across the EU and beyond. If you want to volunteer abroad without paying any fee, then you have to search for ESC volunteering program abroad. The European Solidarity Corps finances volunteering and solidarity projects. It is open to individuals aged 18 to 30 (35 for humanitarian aid) and to organisations in EU and partner countries.
About Hästekasen
Hästekasen is an eco-collective situated on a farm in the countryside (on Sweden's west coast) that is run by a non-profit, non-governmental organisation.
They engage in small-scale farming, forestry, keeping animals, and natural building, which includes providing solutions for water, sewer, and warmth. Instruction, research, exploration, and self-improvement. And through an expanding learning center, they hope to disseminate expertise in the field of self-sustainability. They have been searching for fresh approaches to repopulate the land since 2010. They explore with both conventional and novel building and farming techniques. We engage in both nature-related adventure activities and personal development.
Hästekasen is organising several activities for young people such as youth exchanges, Team ESC Volunteering, and Long term Volunteering projects.
What is the Volunteering about ?
This volunteering is not a 9-5 kind of activity. Some days the “work” for 10 hours, other days you may just sit in an watch films and drink tea and talk. There is lots of room for improvisation. Some days there are a course at the farm and the ESC may have to adapt to that, take part, or support, or take a day of. Sometimes you will have to take initiative yourself.
You must understand that the volunteer work is mainly the building work, and sometimes small scale farming. It is obligatory to take part in these activities. The community living that involves you cleaning and cooking is NOT part of the regulated ESC work.
There are several projects with Hästekasen in sweden as Team ESC Volunteering and you can join one of them as follows:
