About the Awaji Youth Federation
The Awaji Youth Federation (AYF) is an initiative based on Awaji Island in Japan. It aims to bring together young leaders from around the world to collaborate on projects addressing global challenges. The program typically lasts for a 9 months , during which participants work on various initiatives related to sustainable development, entrepreneurship, and community building.
About AYF Fellowship
The AYF Fellowship is a live-in program in Japan that combines work and learning for 9 months. Fellows live on Awaji Island at Manabi no Sato, a facility run by the Awaji Youth Federation. The program encourages participants to grow and improve their abilities in a multicultural setting. This environment combines between the demands of a Japanese workplace with a flexible and engaging "learn by doing" approach.
The AYF Fellowship follows the motto "Turning your Imagination into Action." They collaborate with the Pasona Group to develop creative business solutions for social issues. As a Fellow on Awaji Island, you'll have a unique opportunity to share your international viewpoint with this close-knit Japanese community. There are different themes and and structures, AYF has selected four main themes for Fellowship activity. These are

- Design & Technology
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- All candidates aged between 24 - 30 years from all the countries are eligible to apply
- You must have 2-3 years of experience in one of the fellowship focus area
- You hold a Bachelor's degree or higher degree as a legal requirement for working visa in Japan
- You have a proficient level in English, you can prove that by having TOEIC test with score 800 or equivalent, and if you’ve got a handle on Japanese (JLPT N1-N3), that’s a huge plus.
- Can show hard work and discipline, you are not afraid of fostering all your efforts to make the things happen, this discipline keeps you focused on achieving your goals.
- Able to take care of the other and collaborate with them
- Able to adapt with the new challenges with ease and keep pushing forward.
Expenses and Benefits
- Monthly Salary (Base salary + Overtime):JPY 197,000
- Government Taxes, Pension and Insurance fees will be deducted.
- Japanese class fees will be deducted.
- Accommodation will be provided in single rooms in either Japanese or western styles
- Accommodation and Utilities such as electricity, water, WIFI will be covered by the program
- Fellows are responsible for their own food, Pasona can offer discounted meals. We cannot guarantee these meals fit all dietary restrictions.
Timeline
Application deadline: 31st of May 2024
Interviews time: June - July 2024, Candidates will be interviewed on a rolling basis.
Selection result: Selected fellows will be contacted in early August.
Fellowship starts: Fellowship will start in October
