About the Volunteering

Simple living and natural building on permaculture farm is an ESC Volunteering project in the Flemish part of Belgium. If you want to make a modest contribution to a more regenerative world by inspiring people, rather than telling them what to do. If you wiling to taste simpler living close to nature, together with like-minded people. Then this volunteering project might by an ideal opportunity for you. The project aims to broaden the scope of alternatives, reduce fear and create hope and courage to consider the radical changes that need to be made in the world, rather than to criticize the current system and people trapped in it.

The volunteer will participate in the following activities

- harvest and process food,

- small eco construction work,

-  green maintenance, 

- regenerative gardening, 

- make sourdough bread, fencing. 

You will help the inhabitants to run the farm and to organise a pizza-party for the neighbourhood. There will be the option to visit related projects in the surrounding and to learn some crafts.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 years and living in one of the following countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Finland, France, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Romania, Sweden)

- Able to communicate and speak in English;

- Able to attend the entire duration of the project of 2 weeks;

- Wan to share a simple life close to nature and share worries about the destruction of the ecosystem.;

- Ability to work with others in an intercultural environment; 

- Willing to learn new things and share with others;

- No special skills are required but everything additional is welcome.


Expenses and Benefits

- The host organisation will provide the accommodation in several rooms with mattress and beds , there is also a tent if you want to sleep in tent.

- The food will be as much as possible local, organic, seasonal, vegetarian with little use of dairy and home-processed.

You will get 6 Euros per day as a pocket money which can be used for your own expenses.

- Each participants will get international health insurance from "HENNER" during the participation in the project.

Your international travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the distance between your home and Italy according to the following limits:

  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV.

Application deadline: 26th of June 2024

Arrival day: 8th of July 2024

Program starts: 9th of July 2024

Program ends: 28th of August 2024

Departure day: 29th of August 2024

Note: You can arrive up to one week before the camp and stay up to one week after it, as long as you can be there the full three weeks.
