About the conference

fYOUture of YOUth 2.0 - "Fostering active political participation of national minority youth in Europe" is an international conference designed to enhance the participation of national minority youth and their organisations at local, national and European levels.

This event will offer a platform for young people, practitioners, and decision-makers to engage in meaningful discussions, aiming to better understand their needs and challenges. This will facilitate cooperation and involvement in EU youth programs and other relevant methods and tools that can support the participation of national minority youth.

The conference aims to:

- Reflect on the Realities: Raise awareness about how EU youth programs can improve the participation of national minority youth.

- Offer Space for Exchange: Identify the needs of existing practices and tools in collaboration with various stakeholders, using the youth ecosystem model.

- Focus on Solutions: Develop strategies to overcome the challenges faced by national minority youth in participating in EU youth programs and beyond.

- Advocate for Change: Collect recommendations to increase the involvement of national minority youth and their organisations in EU programs, and create a position paper.

Conference activities

- Interactive Workshops and Sessions: Focused on analysing the participation of minority youth in European programs.

-Networking and Capacity-Building Opportunities: For young people and their organisations.

- Dialogue and Co-Creation: With youth representatives and decision-makers.

- Development of a Position Paper: Featuring international experiences and recommendations.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

The conference will bring together 70 participants who are:

- A resident in one of the following countries ( Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro)

- Aged over 18 years old;

- Able to communicate in English, since it is the working language of the conference;

- The conference is seeking participants representing the following target groups:
  • National Minority Youth and Their Organisations: Organised youth groups represented through their networks and organisations.
  • Youth Workers: Those working with national minority youth or interested in enhancing the participation of this specific target group.
  • Young People and Youth Leaders from Majority and Minority Groups: Youth from both majority and minority communities.
  • Decision Makers: Representatives from various levels (local, national, European) involved in youth participation and national minority policy areas, such as minority municipalities and/or minority associations.
  • Organisations: Umbrella organisations of national minorities and other relevant entities, including national youth councils, NGOs, and youth movements connected with the topic.

Expenses and Benefits

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme;

- Tempus Public Foundation (Hungarian National Agency for Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps Programmes) will arrange and cover the costs for accommodation and food for all the participants;

Accommodation is included and consists of shared rooms with private bathrooms, separated by gender. All meals are covered, starting with dinner on the arrival day night and ending with breakfast on the departure day.

- Participants need to  contact their National Agencies (NA) or SALTO youth centre in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.

- Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, recognising their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass.
