An excellent opportunity to participate in the European Forum Albach 2022 in Austria. The Forum brings together young people, leading scholars, thinkers, writers, policy makers, businessmen and civil society practitioners from Europe and all over the world to exchange ideas for a stronger, empowered and democratic Europe.
About EFA 2022
The European Forum Alpbach 2022 will be different from previous versions. The forum will discuss the great challenges facing Europe in several sectors and different disciplines. The most important topics available are the climate issue, securing the future of Europe, and the future of the rule of law and democracy in Europe.
The European Forum Alpbach will be held for two weeks in the first week which called conference week and will have a variety of built-in formats, such as lectures, public events, workshops and hikes, but also, of course, plenty of opportunities to network and share ideas. During the second week called Lab Week, you will explore in greater depth in small groups of international participants, innovative formats will be used to delve into the key questions raised during the first week.
Finance and Benefits
- There is no application fee to apply.
- Scholarships for the EFA 2022 cover participation fee and accommodation
- Each participant will get a daily allowance that partially covers your food expenses
- Travel expenses to and from Alpbach isn't included , you have to cover it by yourself.
Eligibility
- All youth from all countries are eligible to apply
- Your age between 18 and 30 years , but Participants from Africa under 35 years can apply
- You must not have attended the onsite conference of the European Forum Alpbach as a scholarship holder before.
- You are able to communicate in English fluently (minimum on a European B2 level)
- You should prove your proficiency in English and there are several ways to prove that
- Your academic degree is taught entirely in English
- You have a language certificate (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, CPE, CAE, or MUET)
- You are a native speaker. You are considered a native speaker if you are from on of the following countries ( Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States of America )
- confirmation by your school, employer, or a university professor, explicitly stating that you have reached B2 or an equivalent to B2
- You are ready and available to attend the whole duration of this Forum.
- Alpbach welcome applicants from all academic disciplines and encourage strongly Artists and non-graduates to apply.
- There are special application procedures for Austrian, German, Chinese and Taiwanese, you cannot apply through the European Forum Alpbach.
Required Documents
- Your CV and motivation statement
- Your motivation statement will consist of a coherent short essay (max. 4.500 characters). Do not include any personal information such as your name or gender in your essay.
- Proof of your English B2 level as shown above in Eligibility section.
- Latest diploma with transcript of records in English, French or German.
