During a span of two weeks, these activities are conducted along the Bodrog, followed by one week in Hajdúság. The remaining week is dedicated to cleaning up the Hungarian section of the Bodrog River, focusing on collecting floating waste.
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- Young people aged between 18 -30 years old from the following countries " Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Finland, France, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Türkiye, Ukraine";
- Young individuals who, driven by their studies or personal interests, are dedicated to protecting nature and the environment.
- Able to attend the whole duration of the project.
- Able to work in a team and do physical word.
- Knowledge of swimming is an advantage.
Practical conditions & Benefits
- There is no any participation fee.
- Participants will be accommodated in shared bedrooms at a youth hostel on the fabulous Bodrogolasi coast, with a shared bathroom and kitchen, and internet access for 3 weeks.
- They will be accommodated in Hajdúböszörmény for a few days, also in a youth hostel, in rooms with 2-4 beds.
- Organisers will provide 4 meals per day for all the participant with at least one hot meal daily.
- Each volunteer is provided with a pocket money of 6 EUR per day.
- Organisers provide bicycles for local transport.
- Travel expenses to and from Hungary will be reimbursed after participation in the project according to the distance between your travelling place to the volunteering venue as follows:
- for travel distance between 10 and 99 km: 23 EUR / person, no Green travel available.
- for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
- for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
- for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.
- for travel distance between 3000 and 3999 km: 530 EUR / person, +80 EUR extra for Green travel

- IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!
- Participants are entitled to receive Youthpass certificate after finishing the project.
What to bring?
- ID or Passport or any other document you use for travel.
- Towels, flip flops, hygiene products, and a hairdryer, if you need one.
- Medicine, if you have any specific illness or medical condition.
- Your flight tickets, boarding passes, bus or train tickets too.
- Things to bring with you for the intercultural nights (Your national flag, some traditional clothes, food and traditional drinks from your region, the recipe of traditional dish).
