About the Training Course
The North-South Centre of the Council of Europe is launching a Long-Term Blended Training Course on Global Education and Education for Sustainable Development, scheduled from August 26, 2024, to February 28, 2025.
As part of the iLEGEND III project, the course aims to equip participants with new pedagogical skills and competencies rooted in Global Education and Education for Sustainable Development. It targets educators in both formal and non-formal sectors, active within civil society or youth organisations/platforms/youth-related institutions, to:
- Acquire knowledge and competencies related to various aspects of Education for Sustainable Development, based on Council of Europe and other international standards;
- Strengthen intercultural learning skills;
- Experience different pedagogical approaches and methods based on non-formal learning;
- Foster networking and a multiplier effect at local and global levels.
The course's conceptual and methodological framework is based on the Global Education Guidelines, organized by the North-South Centre. Participants' learning will focus on developing competencies related to the training course's main topic, with the CoE Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (RFCDC) as the benchmark. The course is delivered in a blended format, comprising an online component, a residential activity, and a practical phase where participants implement their follow-up activities.
The online component utilizes the Self-Paced Online Training - Introduction to Global Education (also available in French and Arabic). The residential phase is held within the framework of the University on Youth and Development. During this 6-day training, participants will engage in an individual and group learning process that is holistic, process-oriented, and based on experience and action.
