YOUthDIG 2025 in Strasbourg, France (Funded)

An exciting opportunity for 30 young people from all around Europe to participate in YOUth DIG 2025 event for 3 days in Strasbourg, France. YOUthDIG is an annually pre-event aims to foster active participation for youth in discussions and decision-making processes related to Internet governance. YOUthDIG event is organised and funded by The European Dialogue on Internet Governance organisation (EuroDIG).


About EuroDIG

The European Dialogue on Internet Governance organisation (EuroDIG) is an open multi-stakeholder platform to exchange views about the Internet and how it is governed. It was first organised in 2008 by a number of organisations, officials, and specialists. Its goal is to promote communication and cooperation with the Internet community about public policy for the Internet, with the annual conference being held in a different European city each year. The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is delivered with prepared "Messages" from EuroDIG.


About YOUthDIG 2025

YOUthDIG 2025 is an exciting opportunity for young people from across Europe to learn about Internet governance and actively participate in shaping digital policies. Held in Strasbourg, France, the program runs from 9–11 May 2025, with participants also attending the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG) from 12–14 May 2025.

YOUthDIG includes pre-event webinars in April to prepare participants, followed by in-person workshops, peer learning, and networking with experts and fellow youth. Participants will develop and present policy messages reflecting youth perspectives at EuroDIG and the global Internet Governance Forum (IGF).


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 years old residing in the Pan-European region;

- Newcomers to internet governance are encouraged to apply, especially those who don't have any previous experience and want to learn something new.

Applicants with expertise in areas like AI, cybersecurity, law, art, communications, biology, or medicine who wish to explore how digitaliSation and Internet policies impact their fields are encouraged to apply.

- Applicants should have a good level in English, since it is the main language of the course.


Expenses and Benefits

- The event is free of charge, there is no participation fee.

- Successful applicants will be offered a travel and accommodation grant to attend YOUthDIG and EuroDIG 2025 in Strasbourg, France.

- Participants need to pay for their travel in advance and the organisers will reimburse you on successful completion after the event. 

For participants staying in the YOUthDIG accommodation, breakfast is provided daily, along with breaks and lunch during the YOUthDIG program (9–11 May).

- A welcome reception will be held on 8 May, but dinner that evening is self-organised. Dinners during YOUthDIG are included as part of the social program, while meals during EuroDIG (12–14 May) are self-funded to allow for networking opportunities, with some social events potentially including food.

- Participants are responsible for any costs related to COVID-requirements, insurance, visa, local transportation, and daily needs.

- Participants are required to keep costs as low as possible, this will give organisers the opportunity to invite more participants to join the event.



Timeline

Application deadline: 7th of February 2025

Arrival day: 8th of May 2025, and in the evening participants are invited to join a welcome reception.

The YOUthDIG programme: 9-11th of May 2025

The EuroDIG Event: 12-14th of May 2025

Departure day: 14 or 15th of May 2025
