Erasmus+ Training course "Storytelling for Ecosocial Change" in Spain (Funded)

Are you concerned about environmental and social issues? Are you passionate about telling stories? Are you ready to completely switch off your devices for the entire period of the course? If so, then this is an ideal opportunity for you to join the Erasmus+ Training course "Storytelling for Ecosocial Change" which takes place in Casa Algaia, Spain, from 26th of September to 3rd of October 2025. This training course is organised by "Casa Algaia" in collaboration with "Marnaya" and co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme.

 

About the training course

"Storytelling for Ecosocial Change" is an immersive week where storytelling meets activism, and a way to learn how to create your own powerful stories to bring the change we need.

This training course explores how narratives and storytelling are the strongest tools to inspire action and create social change. By understanding and creating powerful stories, we can amplify voices, challenge dominant narratives, and open space for new possibilities. During the training course, the main focus will be on storytelling as a tool for activism, art, and ecosocial transformation. You will experiment with different formats from podcasts and social media storytelling to short videos and more.

Working in teams, you will co-create content, combining your ideas, skills, and creativity to produce a narrative that can inspire action and spark conversations.

Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Application is open for Youth workers, Trainers, Youth leaders, Youth project managers, Youth policy makers, Volunteering mentors, Youth coaches, Youth researchers, and Anyone interested in learning Agroecology and replicating a food forest back home

- Applicants must be over 18 years old

- Application is open mainly for participants from Portugal, Spain, Italy, Croatia, and France, but participants from any other country are welcome as long as they don't fly to the project venue and can travel by sea or on land. 

- Applicants must be able to speak and communicate in English effectively, since it's the main language of the project. 


Expenses and Benefits 

- The project will take place in "Casa Algaia", which is located in a quiet corner next to Cariñena, in a beautiful valley in Sierra de Algairén (Zaragoza). The landscape is dotted with almond trees, olive trees, and vines. 

Accommodation will be quite basic, please don’t expect much luxury. The group will be divided into bunk beds, bell tents, and double rooms. If you want to bring your van and sleep in it, that's an option too. 

The diet offered will be vegan/vegetarian. It will be ethical and sustainable food and delicious. By the way, vegetables provide all the necessary protein. 

- There is a participation fee of €60 to be paid in cash upon arrival. If you cannot pay this amount, email the organisers to request support.

Your travel costs will be reimbursed up to the limit shown in the table below upon full attendance of the training course. Travel should be within 48 hours before/after the course. Flights will not be reimbursed.

  • Max. reimbursement for Participants from Portugal is 250 EUR
  • Max. reimbursement for Participants from Spain is 50 EUR 
  • Max. reimbursement for Participants from Italy is 320 EUR
  • Max. reimbursement for Participants from France is 320 EUR
  • Max. reimbursement for Participants from the Netherlands is 320 EUR
  • Max. reimbursement for Participants from other countries is 320 EUR
- Choose the cheapest way of transportation (avoid expensive high-speed trains). Only public transportation will be reimbursed (no taxis). Reimbursements will be made in euros.


What to bring?

- Comfortable clothes and walking shoes. 

- A mixture of clothing. You may check weather forecasts.

- A notebook/journal and pen/pencils.

- Headlamp

- Natural/biodegradable soaps and shampoo

- Earplugs 

- Laptop and headphones! 

You must bring your European Insurance Card or health insurance.  We recommend taking out travel insurance.
